Speaking of security clearances...wonder how ValJar managed to pass? Do you ever wonder if anyone associated with The Won bypassed the entire security clearance process?

They learned from the Clinton admin that you don't really have to pass a security check. You just ignore the requirement and no one does anything about it.

You forgot the other side of the equation: You need to be able to benefit from Congressional leaders comprised of compromised milquetoast who will look the other way and chastise anyone who dares attempt to demand (And actually severely punish) checks and balances upon the Executive Branch.
