What passport was used to get here from Indonesia?
Sven, you spell out a possible way for him to get a Connecticut SSN, but how did he avoid getting booted as danamco noted?
There would have to be a connection/approval back in Indonesia.
How does/did that work?
Looking for the everyday (early 70’s everyday ) garden variety methods used.

Hasn’t the general story of why he used Barry S. in school in Indonesia was because the government there required a young person living in an adult’s (LOLO) home be a family member.(need for his adoption)
well, maybe the government found out he wasn’t adopted, removed him from the home and deported him....would records be available?
Dad said just flying home alone to “visit” grandma would not have triggered anything with our government in regard to custody/parental rights....But an international incident might.
