This idea was motivated by a ping from GOPJ today, enjoy.
The federal personal income tax was promised to never touch more than the top 1% or 2% of income earners.
The promise was made by Republicans.
Obviously the promise wasn't kept ~ and that means that today, with 53% of the income earners being taxed for federal personal income tax it has been an abject failure.
I'd target the federal personal income tax as a major federal program that's failed, and then eliminate it.
Leftwingtards love that tax though, and even now scheme to extend its grasp.
The numbers are actually worse. About 50% of WORKING Americans pay federal income taxes. But only 58% of adult Americans work. So it seems to me that only about 29% of all adult Americans actually work and pay federal income taxes. 71% pay nothing but are still able to vote and help direct more resources towards themselves.
And you wonder why all this seems like an uphill battle?
They are simply following to Roman example, give the people bread and circus and they will love you.
I have a serious question. What demographic group(s) makes up the 45% of the folks who don’t pay taxes? Thanks in advance.
right from Uncle Sugar's mouth.....
The EITC is a refundable tax credit. This means you may get money back, even if you have no tax withheld. Nationwide last year, almost 26.8 million eligible individuals and families received over $59.5 billion total in EITC.
Generally, the EITC has no effect on welfare benefits. In most cases, EITC payments will not be used to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), supplemental nutrition assistance program (food stamps), low-income housing or most Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) payments. Though unemployment benefits are not earned income, they are taxable and thus affect the amount of EITC you can receive.

Dems have a way of using twisted and self-serving logic, sick - you point that up nicely. Thanks for the ping ( and the 'organized thoughts...)
