Folks,

Instead of must-vote-Romney vs. never-vote-non-Conservative food-fight, can we consider our common goals?

Near-term (Nov 2012-Jan 2013) Goal - Elect the most conservative Representative, Senator, and President so that the progressive (socialist) agenda is halted & rolled back.

Long-term Goal - Establish (or Convert) a Major party dedicated to conservative values and to the return to the limited government per the constitution.

Remembering that the presidential election is 50+ contests, not a nationwide popular election, there are different tactics, based on your state, to move the nation to the near term and strategic goals.

If you are in a Republican-dominated state, which is likely to elect Mr. Romney, you are the vanguard to accomplishing the long-term goal. Your presidential vote should be cast for the conservative party... to ensure they are on the ballot next cycle and to send a message to the RINOs.

If you are in a Democarat-dominated state (such as in my case - Maryland), which is likely to elect Mr. Obama, our votes and support for Republicans down-ballot will strengthen the local effort to reduce Democrat strength. Our presidential vote can also be cast for the conservative alternate.

However, for those in the Battleground State (you'll know by the number of political ads on TV & radio), you must focus on the short term goal — the departure of Mr. Obama from the seat of power. Yes, you must vote for Mr. Romney. Please let us in the other states to carry your “message” to the Republican party, or they are not correctable, to ensure that the conservative party can get ballot slots in the next cycle.

We cannot get to the long-term goal which we all aspire to without achieving the short-term goal. Even us in the hopelessly Democrat states can man the phone-banks to the battleground state which will determine if we get the short-term goal.

Please consider how your actions will impact our beloved country.

Yes, you must vote for Mr. Romney.

I agree with everything you said up until that paragraph. I will be voting in what some people think is a Battleground State, but I will be voting against both Obama and Romney. I have a candidate that I will will vote for with pride.

You think it is crucial that Romney gets elected president. I don't. And, I'm not alone in feeling that way. As time goes on, you are going to find more and more people who just don't think it's crucial or even good that Romney gets elected president.
