Okay, so slavery was a moral sin. Certain founders chose to allow the practice to continue in this new country because they could not reach a concensus to declare our independence from the King.
They decided to fix that problem later, and the country/slaves did pay dearly.
But this country would never have existed without that common sense compromise. It just was not going to happen. So they made a choice. Should John Adams and others have stuck to their principles and said it’s all or nothing?
For me, it’s like that. This country will be so damaged with another obama term......less so with Romney. It’s up to US to save what we can now, not wait for someone better in four years.
It would have saved about 600,000 lives.

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever...Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people are to be free." -- Thomas Jefferson
So, the question is, just how much destruction are you willing to heap on your children and grandchildren in the name of political expedience?
At some point you have to stop compromising the core moral principles of the republic, or this republic isn’t going to make it.
I hope y’all don’t wait too long...
