And by what right would Texas secure the property of the US government: Arms, planes, tanks, nukes, etc. All of these belong to the US Government and would not become the property of Texas.

What happens in case like that is Texas would seize those assets. And most of the soldiers here would defend that decision. The US would face the decision of fighting or not.I do not believe the US would choose violence. Not only does Texas produce a lot of oil, an even larger percent that comes from overseas is refined right here.
When you choose secession, the laws of the country you are seceding from become annulled.All secessions, revolutions, civil wars, etc are illegal to one side or the other.
