Jim,

As much as I respect what you say, I gotta say going because you are invited is rather like calling the lobster dinner at a surf-and-turf the "guest of honor".

Well, I have to say that Romney gave a pretty good showing of himself and of the Republican party. He didn't pander and ghe told it like it was. He wil;l eliminate every nonessential expensive Program INCLUDING ObamaCare. Even though he knew he would be booed.

That booing gave him 1 to 2 percentage points among undecideds. The NAACP is NOT a well loved benevolent group among independents. He fearlessly went into the lions den and told them what he would do, regardless if they liked it or not. He didn't pander, which is what everyone always says that he does. Well, he wasn't rude, he wasn’t wishy washy, and he had the guts to tell them that they where sold a bill of goods and they should vote for him.

I was much more impressed with his speech than with McLaim’s and Obama SNUBBED the NAACP sending the well known buffoon and bigot Slow Joe BiteMe!

Strongly disagree: Charlie Wilson of Stinger fame noted that he won his first election because he went to every black church and asked for their vote. There is a REAL conservative, young GOP guy in the Peoria district of IL who did the same thing and won a district 44% black (forget his name) but he said it was the ONLY time a Repub had ever asked for their vote. Did he get all? No, but he got enough to get elected.
