Been there done that. Get over it. There’s a reason you folks are stuck on the east coast
No complaints here - even if I did lose power, which, between hurricanes and blizzards happens from time to time here in New England. Plenty of fresh water, lots of meat walking and flying around in the woods and fields, mild summers, trout and salmon - it's God's country. And if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes.
I'd rather deal with cold than heat.
