Border Patrol agents set for corruption trial

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Raul Villarreal was long a public face of the Border Patrol, frequently appearing on television news as an agency spokesman and acting as a dangerous human smuggler in a public service announcement intended to warn Mexicans about the dangers of entering the United States illegally.

Elizabeth Villarreal, a sister who works at AT&T as a customer service representative, said Fidel inspired her to pursue an education. She called Raul "an outstanding community leader, an ambassador for the less fortunate."

"Raul has always been a great example for my family and I," she wrote.

CBP brags about having the highest percentage of minorities of any federal agency. What they don’t brag about is the extremely high percentage of the corruption cases that involve those minorities. There are people working for the cartels that were selected because they didn’t have a criminal record to join CBP.
