Geoffrey Chaucer writes Robert Heinlein...
...if done well a work of gifted literature.
I’m sanguine.
Yeah, it’s still in the “Publishing” mode right now. I have an ASIN (B008BAL10K), but it’s not live yet. Should be able to provide a direct link by late this evening. I realized I may have jumped the gun on the announcement, but it was more of a “It’s done!” impulse to post.
I will have the link on the thread as soon as I get the e-mail from Amazon.
WOW, ASB. You have a right to a vanity post. Kudos and may you have continuing success with more writing in the future.
Best wishes and good luck!
I’m very happy for you, and I hope your novel will be very popular.
Did you self-publish or did you get picked up by a publishing house?
I self-published, but I hope that no one holds that against me. I worked hard to make sure it is as professional as anything that comes out of one of the major houses. You only have one shot to make a first impression.
About the possible success of your book.
You used the pen name “Wilson Harp?”
That alone should be enough to “seal” the deal.
Congrats!
Did you at least get a professional critique? Because you are right about first impressions.
I’ve met a lot of self-published authors who think they can write. They desperately need an honest critique.
Would love to know how this works out for you. Any nibbles on the short stories?
Had six beta readers including fans of the genre and those who don’t care for the genre. Those whose entire review efforts were “I liked it” or “It was ok” were not brought into my circle of series readers. LOL
Yeah, I’ve had a few sales a day on each of my shorts, trying to build a bigger base for them each day, but sales are steady and climbing.
Sounds like a good read! I’ll check it out and D/L to my Kindle, to read when I finish Limbaugh’s new book....
Self-publishing is no longer something to be ashamed of. You will keep more per reader than if you were represented by a publisher. If you attract readers, you will receive offers.
Are you aware of “Wool”? Started as a blog, went to self-published, and received a movie offer. I am nearly finished with the Omnibus and it is easy to see why it succeeded.
Writing a novel is a tremendous undertaking. It requires stamina and craft. You have every reason to be proud of yourself.
Am buying hubby a Kindle for Christmas, so I will read it after that.
Very cool!! Congratulations ASB!
Yeah, Hugh Howey scored a golden ticket with “Wool”, and he is one of the nicest most generous writers on many of the self-publish boards. No one deserves the success more than Hugh.
:^)
