Personally I think you have every right to cast a third party vote for President. I have myself, several times, and I may do so this year.

But in doing so, I will not succumb to the fantasy that neither Romney nor Obama will be the next President.

Over the last year, I have seen some truly delusional comments on FR...."Sarah Palin would get 99% of the vote"...."Newt Gingrich can be elected as a write in candidate"....and now, some arcane combination of forces will cause "Romney to fail to get the GOP nomination". This is kool-aid drinking at industrial strength.

As I never have. I am fully aware that barring a miracle, either Romney or Obama will be the next guy in the White House. I want to make sure that whichever guy it is, fails to get a mandate and is as defensive and politically vulnerable as possible, and one thing that would make him that way would be if he won on a plurality where the clear majority of Americans voted against him.
