I respect what McCain did before his political career started. After it started though, well... what did he as the 2008 R nominee get us?

As somebody has properly said, McCain has been:

1. an outstanding and true-blue patriot;

2. a lousy, incompetent Republican senator; and

3. an absolutely awful POTUS candidate.

Today of all days, we should honor his patriotism. His less admirable qualities can be discussed ad infinitum tomorrow and on subsequent days.
