As somebody has properly said, McCain has been:
1. an outstanding and true-blue patriot;
2. a lousy, incompetent Republican senator; and
3. an absolutely awful POTUS candidate.
Today of all days, we should honor his patriotism. His less admirable qualities can be discussed ad infinitum tomorrow and on subsequent days.

McCain lost the 2008 election when he “suspended” his campaign and flew to Washington purportedly to intervene personally in the financial crisis. The ensuing meetings demonstrated McCain had no authority or ability to affect the financial meltdown (there was a sitting president and McCain was not in a leadership position in the Senate charged with financial oversight). This headline grabbing, ego driven, ploy resulted in McCain looking like a buffoon and gave the mainstream press the opportunity to portray Obama as a cool collected leader. McCain went from leading in the polls, prior to his Washington trip, to losing the election.
Not to mention the fact McCain pulled his punches throughout the 2008 election campaign when it came to attacking Obama. By failing to define Obama as the inexperienced radical leftist he was, McCain allowed Obama to define himself as a young vibrant intellectual who would save America from the financial ruin and endless wars of the Bush administration.
John McCain lost the 2008 election due to his out of control ego and stupidity.

I wonder whether the heckler was upbraiding McCain for teaming up with Hanoi John Kerry to cover up our government's betrayal of our captured fighting men in Viet Nam?
Something similar happened in 1992 with Clinton beating George H. W. Bush.
It's ironic that Obama spoke of our Vietnam veterans being denigraded (by his own party), and one of his supporters does just that to McCain on Memorial Day. The guy is worse than a jerk.

McLame lowered himself to the hecklers level when he called him a jerk. Funny how McLame has no problem offending John Q. Public but took pains not to offend the Kenyan usurper.
