The most ridiculous concept ever perpetrated by H.Sapiens is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of the Universes, wants the sacharrine adoration of his creations, that he can be persuaded by their prayers, and becomes petulant if he does not recieve this flattery. Yet this ridiculous notion, without one real shred of evidence to bolster it, has gone on to found one of the oldest, largest and least productive industries in history. [Robert Heinlein]

Sorry. We can agree to disagree. I know this is a pro-god site. I’ve been posting for over 10 years. I’m here for the conservatism, not the religon. But this nonsense about voting for Romney being a sin is ridiculous.

I’m happily married, have 3 kids, am pro-life. Military officer with many deployments. I’ve never had more loathing for a politician than Obama. He must go or we’re finished.

If your religon gives you comfort that’s swell. I just hope folks of all stripes that are conservative can agree that Bammy must go. God won’t have anything to do with it.

Heinlein claimed to be a methodist, and I'm not sure that I'd take an excerpt from one of his science fiction books as indicative of what he believed.

At any rate, the above statement is a distortion of Christian beliefs. God doesn't want the "sacharrine adoration" of his creations. He wants our companionship. He wants an intimate relationship with each of us. That's why we were created.

That he can be persuaded by our prayers, reflects that for whatever reason, He does want a relationship with us. Some view God having created the heavens, as too big to want to deal with man. But He is so big, that He can deal with man, and the universe at the same time. I think that's cool.

God doesn't become "petulant" if he doesn't receive our flattery. He does become rather indignant and angry when we perform acts of evil towards our fellow man. He is after all a God of love and justice. Worship is more for our benefit that God's. And as Jesus said, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world."

Again Jesus said, "Love the Lord God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself" contains the entire law. I find no flaw in this command to love. People can twist it however they want. But I find this to be the ultimate moral code. Far higher than any other religion.

I think it's a wonderfully neat thing that the Creator of the Universe still wants to be my "friend", my "brother", my "father", and yes my "God".

So I guess we will just have to dissagree. But I hope that you don't let the ridicule of a science fiction writer, or atheists or anyone else, cause you to miss out on that relationship.

“I’ve never had more loathing for a politician than Obama. He must go or we’re finished.”

The worst, and most dangerous thing about Obama is how the press covers for him.

I mean, did Hitler get press like Obama? Did Stalin get press like Obama? Does Chavez get press like Obama?

That man could roast and eat puppies in the Rose Garden and nobody in the MSM would care. As someone here said when I used this scenario before, we’d probably hear how it’s multi-culti good and nutritious.

We have to vote, in November, for the candidate with the best chance to beat Obama.

Or don’t vote for that person, if that’s how your conscious guides you.

Nobody HAS to vote to get rid of Obama, but I will.

And if that’s a sin I’ll take my lumps. I’m pretty sure voting for Romney (or the many other Rinos and dopes I’ve voted for over the years) won’t be the big mark against me when Jesus calls my name.
