I understand your sentiment, but it is misplaced. The Romney thing isn’t about politics. Politics is very closely tied to personality types. Any candidate that can pull votes from the middle will never satisfy the fringe. This happens in every election.
Some personality types are always looking to lose. I see them in business and in social life as well as in voting preferences.
They think everything in the world should be about them, and when faced with facts to the contrary they react as you have seen.
When the time comes, some will quietly vote for Romney while claiming they didn’t. Others won’t. They are the ones who never vote anyway.
There are over 60 million voters who sit out each national election. The ones with the personality problems are a small part of this number. Most non-voters are simply apolitical. The grousers are a tiny fraction of that number.
But you’ll notice they insist upon they are living their ‘principles’, which is code for “I’m more important than you.”
They have my pity, I don’t get mad at them. Like the poor, they will always be around, and miserable.
I’m trying not to get mad, or at least not to post mad.
