You have to realize how fast people get thrown under the bus, yet how easily they can jump out from under it and be loved again. Unfortunately, this pattern is true for both conservatives and liberals. Do something to piss off forum group think, and you're despised. A few hours/days/weeks later do something the group think approves of, and your an icon to be revered.
My understanding is that Katy Perry was a church singer who started her career performing Christian music. She is a talented singer and realized regular pop/secular music could get her far more fame and money than doing the religious stuff. For years conservative music critics hated this woman for her "betrayal of Christian values" and for songs like "I Kissed A Girl". Suddenly she releases something that pisses off the anti war feminist types and there is every chance the same people that detested her a few months ago will suddenly find a soft spot in their heart for her - purely due to the political "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" angle.
We see the same thing with conservatives like Rubio, Ryan, etc, endorsing Romney. Hated and thrown under the bus this week, but almost certainly to be loved again in a few weeks/months. It really is almost comical.
It is comical, absurd and people who do this are sort of flip floppers instead of sticking to their guns and not following popular public opinion. Rubio kind of killed it for me and is dead to me now. I will never support someone that supports a RINO like Romeny.
