Yes, that toddler photo exactly shows a typical Hawaiian cottage aka “shack” near the beach, I’ve seen many exactly like it around 1970. Totally typical. I remember seeing on FR a couple of years ago - the outside sink (I’ve washed clothes in ones exactly like it), the what looks to be a croton plant, etc.

Sounds as though he was with FMD. Since he arrived in HI (most likely) as a baby. I wonder what his real birth date or approximate is. I doubt if Maya Angelou (I was wondering if it was she) brought him as a week old infant?

As you can see, the missing records for arrivals from overseas into Hawaii for the period in early August 1961, now make it impossible to find out who may have brought an infant of unknown age into the US...but it stands to reason that who-ever it was, had a passport and was listed as an arrival.
IMO The name was recognizable and connected to the deception, and had to be removed.
A woman, travelling with an infant not her own perhaps?
