What are the requirements for becoming a Member of the House?

Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution states:

"No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen."

These requirements cannot be changed without a constitutional amendment.

No mention of whether or not someone has to be sane. They just need to find enough people dumb enough to vote for them.

No, but I’m pretty sure that they cannot continue to serve if found medically (mentally) unfit to do so. And I know no politician would have the Texas sized huevos needed to actually go through with any of this.

But the PR aspect if pushed at the grassroots would stir a hornets nets with Conservatives and many Indys that perhaps for the first time THINK about the things happening. It’s not just politics. There’s a good dose of crazy in the literal sense to go with it that has led to the state of America.
