He didn't go to WalMart. He went to 7/11. There has been NO deviation from that storyline until you speculated on it just now. There has been a mention to Upsala Grocery (which I believe I was the first to mention) but it closes early. It's afraid of getting robbed. Even the nearby mall is closed at 7pm on a Sunday. There is a Hooters but I don't think they serve Skittles.
Map out the 7/11s. You'll find two within about the same distance of a few miles. Yes, there are more but then it would be even more curious as to why he'd walk to one that's even further away
I drive by the front gate of this community several times a month. I know the area fairly well.
NOW, about stores closing at 7, he could have gone BEFORE 7, been out of there, and be back home by 7:20 if he hadn't been shot.
I think it's possible he went past the orthodontist's office which is at 111 on a nearby street. Just my speculation, but George could very well have had that number in mind ~ when he gave it as his own location.
I THINK it's highly speculative that his fear of being overheard is the reason he didn't give his own address ~ I took it as simple evasion ~ suggesting purpose of evasion ~ which is....... well, he didn't want the dispatcher to know something relevant. NO IDEa what that was at the time, but one thing could be that he saw Martin earlier.
No doubt that's been checked out by somebody by now.
You know, I’ve seen references to 7-Eleven in a lot of stories, but I don’t know where they came from, or whether they are true. I do not doubt that he had Skittles in his pocket when he died, and I don’t care where he got them. But the lazy news stories that repeat so many unsourced minor details, some provably false, many completely irrelevant, calls into question many of the more important details being reported.
The fact of the matter is, it makes no difference whatsoever where he got the Skittles. It is undisputed that Martin had every right to be where he was.
And so did Zimmerman. That’s what’s so tragic.
