I would never suggest you vote for Romney in the primary. My suggestion was if it were between him and Obama in the general election, I would vote for Romney. Romneycare is appalling.
However, if Obama gets another term, we will live under tyranny. I feel like we already do, but I am sure it will get worse. Obama hates the very principles our country was founded on. He stomps on all our religious values. He has left our country vulnerable to attack by weakening our defense. He has weakened our country economically. Is this what we want to pass along to our kids and grandkids?
Romney served in a state that had 85 percent democrats in the legislature, so who knows how many were the princples he believed in or if was overruled by the legislature?
My hope is that Romney could be persuaded by the likes of Paul Ryan, Rubio and the conservative faction of the party to bring him more to the right. That will never happen with Obama. I am concerned if Romney were president what kind of judges he would appoint etc., but I know the kind of judges Obama would appoint and I know I would not like it.
As far as tyranny goes, everything that Obama is trying to do on a national scale, Romney has already accomplished on a state level. Ask the churches in Massachusetts about tyranny and having their principles and values stomped on. Romney has already done it. I don’t care if there were 100% democrats in Massachusetts, Romney was governor, the ideas were his and his signature is on the bills. If he had any problem with what was done, he would have never have proposed those solutions and/or never would have signed them but instead would have let them override his veto.
Ask the conservatives of Massachusetts how well Mitt can be persuaded. He stabbed them in the back at every turn. He left the republican party in shambles. That, plus the fact that he is the easiest candidate for Obama to defeat, makes him the ideal candidate for the democrats. Obama has been gearing up to run against Romney since 2008 and many conservatives have no idea what Romney’s real record is. They will be apoplectic when they find out Mitt’s proud Massachusetts record of achievements and there will be plenty of video tape of him crowing about them to back the democrats up.
I know the kind of judges Mitt will appoint, and I know he has no love for the Constitution. I understand your desire to pretend that Mitt has no past history of performance in this area. It can be quite frightening for those being deceived when they realize their choice is between a marxist communist and a Fabian socialist. But then that is not a choice conservatives have to accept.
