It’s an interesting question. What if PR becomes a full state?

I wonder how this will affect the attitudes among the illegal alien population (generally from Mexico and Central America) about coming here. Let’s say we now have a state that’s in the non-contiguous group (Alaska and Hawai’i are already there) that also has a majority Hispanic population. How will that affect the “immigration reform” debate in the U.S. when cries over “the lost territory of Aztlan” are drowned out by cheers over the rising of the new star in the Caribbean?

Should the citizens of the US decide if they want another state? I guess the Congress might have already abdictated that right. Possibly another thing with which to damn the Congress.
