If the Mexicans need a serious minefield to give them a clue to stay home then that's what we'll need to use.
That's the way it's done in Korea.

Perri Caliente had several things going against him. First, there was the question of whether or not he prized Americans ahead of Mexicans.
It wasn't looking all that good for him.
Now, about the Fench, we had a couple of folks here who had no idea how cows drink out of troughs and how wells work.
Frankly, if we decide it's important enough we'll build the fence on the Mexican side of the Rio and they'll like it!

And Rick Perry was hammered on this forum because he was less than enthusiastic about fencing off the Rio Grande.Yep - he knew that only strategically placed fences, in high population centers, would be worth anything. His ideas were sound, but only a few would admit it. Clear case of mistruths about his views on illegals entering the country and he was condemned. Sort of like those who hate Newt "because he cheated on his wife" - so many folks on FR have tunnel vision to the point they become Dim-like in their mockery and turn a blind eye to their chosen one(s). Jim Rob must be on high doses of antacids these days.

Yea, it the border would be much more secure WITHOUT a fence.
There is a reason he was ridiculed on this site.

Yep. A barrier is only effective when covered by fire.

Have Engineering Corps dig very straight trenches 50 feet wide by 12 miles long, only ten feet deep, no structures or materials needed.
Monitored by lasers.
Break the beam, and a rail gun launches 5 lb round of solid titanium at supersonic velocity. Direct hit will vaporize; anything else will be killed by the shock wave.
Patrol with choppers.
