I agree this is a real potential problem. Unlike some, I think Romney can and likely will win, but he has some real weaknesses, and the above is always the problem with middle of the road Republicans. The conventional thinking is that moderate candidates win moderate voters, but that typically is not the case. The voters will go for not go for a Dem-lite when they can get the real thing, and the moderate Republican simply cannot differentiate in the arguments. Assuming Obama stays unpopular, I think Romney does win because he is a reasonable alternative to a typical voter, but if Obama gains real strength, Romney is compromised on a lot of our best issues....health care, Wall Street, etc.

Obama will tell voters about this reasonable person who believes when he dies he will get his own planet, that he thinks he is a god, that Jesus is satans brother, Mary had sex with God the Father,.....I could go on and on. Obama and “reasonable” people will laugh all the way to the white house.
