Originally America was truly a social conservative nation, created by true social conservatives, they would be disgusted at how anti-social conservative and liberal, and libertarian America has become in the last 90 years.

Ahhh, young jedi, you are indeed closing in on the truth... here is another... one of our founding fathers ( I cannot remember which one ) said the following (excuse the paraphrasing but I cannot remember the exact phrase) This constitution is written for a moral people. It will work for no other. Now, what do you suppose was meant by that? It is really quite clear. Only a people with moral guidance from the almighty can live with this document, because it specifically does NOT grant the federal government with the power to regulate morality. Any power not specifically granted to the federal government is reserved by the states and the people respectively. You are correct that the last 90 years have seen the constitution and the bill of rights bastardized. The beginning of this was not drugs, or booze, or hookers, or anything of this sort. It began with the passing of the 17th amendment. This took away the power of the states, and put it into the hands of the federal government. Yes, our founding fathers would be shocked. They would be shocked that the people have become so complacent that they allow the feds to run roughshod over them, with the sound of thunderous applause. And it is the people with the nanny state, I have to protect you from yourself attitude that are leading the way to destruction.
