My sample size isn't that large, but I'll say this. I was listening to Rick's "moral victory" speech in Michigan last night...while I like his conservative values, he was a rambler when it came to speaking. I haven't heard a lot of his other speeches, but that one was particularly painful to watch.
Just my .02.

That’s not saying a whole lot since a Romney nomination would hardly ‘push’ the Obama Administration on anything. The Romney campaign is standing in sand. His political past as a moderate (OK, Liberal) is going to make it impossible for Romney to gain any traction.

As far as I'm concerned Romney would bring the GOP the same election disasters they had with Bob Dole and John McCain. I would hold my nose and vote for Romney as I did for McCain, as he would be infinitely better than Obama, but I fear the 2012 would be be a replay of 2008 with Obama again elected.
You would think the GOP leadership would get the hint that Romney who has been running for president since at least 2008 is a weak candidate among the rank and file GOP. Romney has spent millions setting up organizations in various states and then just squeaks by Santorum in his home state of Michigan, looses to Gingrich in South Carolina and looses to Santorum in Iowa when both Gingrich and Santorum had been written off and had neither Romney's money or organization. Romney just can't close the deal with GOP voters and I do not think his Obama lite politics will play all that well with the so called moderate voters and will be a bitter pill to swallow for most of the GOP base.
