Absolutely NOT. Newt is the only hope this country has for returning to sound fiscal and social principals. Sweater vests went out in the early seventies as have the citizens propensity to embrace the puritanical ideals of Santorum. Like it or not there is no way in todays immoral atmosphere existing in this country can someone like Santorum carry the majority in the general.
Catholicism is now Puritanism? Do tell...
At any rate, it's funny how things come back into fashion. Forty years sounds about right!
"Like it or not there is no way in todays immoral atmosphere existing in this country can someone like Santorum carry the majority in the general."
I'd be more inclined to buy this argument if Santorum weren't running against the worst president in US history.
You're also neglecting to consider that people tend to turn towards religion during tough times, and the last few years have been tough times for a whole lot of Americans. Besides, I think many people are becoming more and more aware of the very real costs of the current "immoral atmosphere".
