Can someone explain how the USA benefits from from its relationship with Isreal? Why would we want to get in a war with Iran for Isreal?

I don’t think Pat has a problem with Jews or Isreal, he does have a problem with the USA acting against what he believes are its own interests. USA’s and Isreal’s interests are not in the same.

I will explain it so that even an admirer of “Pat” could understand it.

That is a dangerous region of the world. We have only one friend in that region. We appear as if we keep them on a short leash, and threaten that if things don't go as we wish them to, we might remove the leash.

USA directly benefited from Iraq not having a nuclear bomb or bombs - and that was a direct result of Israel and our support of Israel.

Supporting Israel is in the short and long term interest of these United States. It is not a Jewish conspiracy - it is the real world situation.

1. At least learn to spell ISRAEL.
2. "USA’s and Isreal’s (sic) interests are not in the same." What exactly does this mean in your world?
3. The mullahs of Iran have repeatedly referred to the USA as 'The Great Satan".
4. Israel has the right to defender herself against her enemies, whether we like it or not.
5. Obergruppenfuhrer Pat Buchanan is an anti-Semite and has proved this repeatedly.
6. Which country in the Middle East is of greater strategic interest to the US? Iran or Israel?
7. "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." (MLK, brainyquote.com)

Israel is our only reliable ally in one of the most important strategic regions in the world, one which is bound to become more important in the future and not less. Besides Israel, there is not a single country in that area with which we could ally and have any kind of true confidence in their support if a conflict were to emerge in the region.

Israel is one of our most valuable partners in the war against terrorists, for many reasons. Their experience dealing with terrorists and their tactics is unparalleled, they have developed strategies to deal with them that are effective, and they have the most competetant, reliable, and comprehensive intelligence apparatus in the Muslim world. Without their help, we would be hard pressed to duplicate those advantages, if it were even possible.

They are also a key purchaser of many of our military systems, and not only are they more competent at maintaining and operating them than most of our partners, they have continually come up with innovations to these systems which they have shared freely with us. Many Israeli innovations have been incorporated back into our own systems, saving us money and increasing our military’s effectiveness. They also happen to be one of the world’s leading powers in the emerging realm of cyber-warfare, where they are probably in the top 3 countries, along with the US and China.

USA’s and Israel’s interests are not in the same.

That's the key point.

Buchanan can be the Middle East expert at the University of Iran, or Obama University. The Sampson Option and educate yourself. A book written by a reporter definitely NOT sympathetic to Israel.
Among other gems the book asserts that the first Israeli targets during the height of the cold war was...

The southern Soviet Union! Same country as the US nuclear targets.
Why do you suppose?
The notion that the U.S. would demand that Israel today risk physical anihilation to appease a cartel that would be criminally prosecuted in the U.S. is shameful, immoral and impossible to justify.

It wouldn’t be “a war with Iran for Israel” as you put it. Iran could threaten Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Turkey and many other countries in the area, with just the missiles they have now. Many of those places provide a lot of the world’s oil. Imagine the world economy (including ours) with no oil.
