Fact is Ron Paul is a medical doctor and still went over to Vietnam even though he had a wife and children.
Fact is Ron Paul is a U.S. congressman that has been consistent with most of his political positions unlike the rest of the candidates. A lot more than the other candidates that did not have the guts to serve when it was their time.
Fact Ron Paul has never supported a Terrorist or Terrorist group. Just because Ron Paul takes the Founding Fathers position of not wanting to be policeman of the world does not mean he sides with the enemy. By your very definition you would think the Founding Fathers support Terrorist.
Fact is we have over 900 military bases world wide and operate out of 2900. This does not even include 11 Carrier Battle Groups too. Which consist of over a half million troops between the Navy and the Marines alone. Furthermore, we have the most advanced military in the world. Thanks to great advancements in technology and military equipment we do not have to maintain the same size military. We can save a lot of money just be phasing out old technology (military bases) and bringing in new (global fighters, bombers and drones).
What you are arguing for is the equivalent of wanting to stay in the horse buggy industry after the car industry has been invented and thriving. Remember it was technology that defeated the Soviet Union after Reagan went forward with SDI and rolled out the Stealth Bomber. The Soviet Union realized their army was obsolete and we all know what happened. Fighting the last was has never been a successful strategy.
