It would be totally irresponsible for Newt to step aside until we see how Rick fares after the butt-whooping that is sure to come his way before Super Tuesday. Newt obviously has far stronger positives than any other candidates in the race given his ridiculously successful career of promoting conservative government, but he suffered from some negative attacks. It would be disastrous if we see Rick get slaughtered under negative attacks after Newt drops out and then have no one to turn to. The Romneybots desperately want Newt to drop out because they know that’s their best plan to win the nomination...whittle the race down to one weaker opponent with a much weaker record of achievement than Newt, and kill him with negatives, leaving nowhere for the votes to go except to Romney.

Newt drops so Ricky Santo can roll over for the Es like he has done all his undistinguished career, leaving a clear path for Romney. Union lackey mission accomplished.

That’s irrelevant since it didn’t stop Newt or many of his foaming-at-the-mouth rabid supporters from calling on Santorum to drop after winning in Iowa. Newt has been losing ground since South Carolina while Santorum has been gaining momentum and money.
