n less than sixty minutes, the tiny nation of Iran could easily defeat two of the mightiest military powers in the world if they are allowed to engage in a first strike opportunity against both of those nations. This is not some far-fetched idea as U.S. and Israeli military planners are keenly aware of the implications of an Iranian attack which catches both nations off guard. The problem is not one of strategy or ability by either nation. The military units of both nations could easily defeat the Iranians in a nuclear or conventional war. However, Iran is not a conventional nation-state nor is the modern concept applicable to the confrontation which is coming.
If Iran were to attack, it would be the ultimate one shot use it or lose it approach to all strategic, conventional, and non-conventional forces.

If there is a nuclear strike or a massive state sponsored attack on America again and the government’s response is something other than “goodbye Mecca, goodbye Medina” there will be problems.

Depends if Iran gets its first strike off. EMP would disable most of America.

So if they were to drop a nuke on a major US city people think the first response would be to nuke Iran?
Don’t hold your breath especially with this POTUS.

Sadly the first response for some would be to nuke Israel!

You are probably right about Israel. They don’t need to put a nuke down into a city. The real question is can they make one this small.
A single small bomb in high orbit (200 miles) would be enough to take out the electronics on the eastern half of the US.
They know this.

Out of the gate you can tell the author doesn't know what he is talking about.
Iran could not defeat either the USA or Israel.

If we were attacked and the response was anything less than total annihilation of our enemies, I suspect that the POTUS would be “fired”, and someone put in command who would respond decisively.
Is this seditious..........?

If Iran were to attempt a first strike against a US interest, we would blow them to hell several times overTalke big now but are you and your loved ones volunteering to be on the destination end of that first strike? No, didn't think so. We can't let them have the first, second, or last strike.

If Iran manages a first strike against the US therE will be no POTUS to decide on a response. It will not be delivered via ICBM. More likely smuggled in and detonated by a cell that has been in place for over a decade. Target? DC, in their belief that they can cut off the head of the great Satan. That is the one I lose sleep over. I have a son in DC.
And the macho BS on this thread about us slicing through Iran like butter can only occur in two scenarios. 1. We strike first. Or 2. A doomsday scenario M. A. D. In a conventional war, the defeat of Iran is only a matter of will and time. But Iran will not fight us in a conventional war. And only a naïf like Barak Obama or Ron Paul can think that making nice with them will work. But neither will conventional military thinking.

"We can't let them have the first, second, or last strike."If a nation is determined, and wants to devote its resources to building an 'atomic' device that goes 'boom', it will. No one can stop them from producing one. Only MAD can stop them from actually using it(assuming they care). If they are willing to ignore MAD and accept the losses, then people on both sides WILL die. The best we can hope for at this point is to slow them down in production, unless that time has already passed.

Persia can get another shot at the voyage from barbarism, through the stone age, to a slow crawl back to civilization.
Let's see what they do next time, in 1800 years or so.
