When did conservatives start pushing to name movements and themselves to mainstream the word shit into our daily culture?

As my Grandfather, a WWII US Navy Captain used to say:
"Language is a tool used to encode a message and get it across. The words used reflect the severity and importance of what is being said. If you're hung up on the language used, you're missing the meaning."

Alternatively, when people objected to his use of certain terms and invited him to use other words to express himself, he would say this:
"In this instance, the term used is the only appropriate term."

I dare say the man was more conservative than any you will ever find anywhere.

Your grandfather was not conservative if he wanted his sailor language to become the language of our public culture, and would get on the net to push that idea as many here are.

Do some of the people here really not understand the difference between salty private conversation, and us pushing this into the public realm, into out public writings, into labeling our movements with it, formalizing it, pushing it into our homes and into the articles that we push our children to read?
