My time with preparedness and the survival movement goes well back into the 1960s, “our” means us, those who are a part of the survival, preparedness movement, or have an interest in it.

ansel12 what I see is a person more worried about someone using a word than if your fellows are prepared for whats coming. All your brag about how a great and experienced prepper you are, but after researching your posting history I could not find one instant where you posted a article on preparedness or survival. I couldn’t fine one instant where you ever contributed one iota, one idea, one comment using of your ‘vast knowledge of survival/preparedness’ in an effort to teach, assist promote or even discuss survival/preparedness.

Yet you have written reams about the use of the term SHTF. I would point out that you yourself used the spelled ‘s’ word more in your post than most people use it in a year’s worth of their speech.

The article of the thread was about the real world experience someone who has been through a period of social/governmental/financial breakdown. Such knowledge is invaluable to anyone preparing themselves for such an event.

It is near the same as a new boot arriving in theater being told by a vet to “Forget about what they think they know and listen to me and you might just stay alive.”

This article provided just that type of firsthand knowledge. Can you provide the equivalent?

Would you prevent such knowledge from being relayed because they use rough language. My goal is to keep people alive you goal is to clean-up some language in the great scheme of things which do you conceder the greater goal?

Now can you point out anywhere were you logical discussed the subject of the post that of the best stratagem for saying safe and surviving such a break down? Can you show where you used your vast experience and knowledge to analyze what the author did and then provide an intelligent critique of his actions? Or of the situation or of Preparedness/Survival in general.

No what you did was to highjack a thread and turn it into your own personal soapbox while provide nothing of benefit on the subject of the thread.

You say we need to write these author and convince them not to use the term. I ask you now how many of them have you written to? Me I will continue to comb the net and provide as much valuable information as I can to my fellow Freepers so that they and their families might survive.

I wish you well in your efforts to save them from fowl language, meanwhile I will continue mine to keep them alive.

I've been a prepper since I was 6, and I don't recall ever electing you for a spokesman.
