“When did conservatives start pushing to name movements and themselves to mainstream the word shit into our daily culture? “

Well lets see.. I got into survival in the mid 90s, Am a member of gosh knows how many survival forums and moderate a few of them as well.. and I can tell you from day one, that word has been used to describe an “event” taking place.

I really would not sweat it that much.

I got into survivalism decades before the 90s, we were having a kind of movement in the 1960s, and as you know Backwoods Home (1970) and the FireFox books came along, and the 1980s had some fine magazines.

I have wondered how conservatives lost the culture, it looks like many on our side were driving it.

There seems to be a powerful, angry, insistence, to defend and promote the left’s agenda on the culture issues, by even many on the right, I guess it is hip, and cool now, sophisticated in a Bill Maher sort of way.
