I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Martin Luther King
She is, as you say, the product of a very diverse family, with no hint of anything that could stick and ultimately ostracize or harm her. She is likely very matter-of-fact about issues of race because she has no reason to have ever become stilted or awkward or uncomfortable about it. She lives it and sees it every day, in her own family.
This would be a background wholly unlike that of this so-called teacher, in all likelihood. Obama has demonstrably not been a good President. His background, what is known of it, is weak historically speaking, in comparison to practically any previous President. Pick one, pick a liberal icon while you're at it, and compare. Experience, accomplishments, the whole nine yards.
Consider the matter carefully. As wrong as it is, it's gotten to be as serious as being labelled a communist in the fifties, as far as becoming a pariah. No mistake, that, either in my opinion, since it's those who were labelled communists in the fifties who have finally turned the tables in their attempt to break this country down and recreate it in the manner of their choosing.
Good luck with this, it won't be easy to deal with. Remember, work with what she is, not what she is not. Being defensive along the "I'm not a racist" line will only lead to more stock replies and canned derision. They've had it beaten into their brains, her classmates as well as her teachers.
Based on the diversity of your family, I suggest you start your conversation with the teacher with exactly that: your family’s diversity. Then ask the teacher about the diversity (or lack of diversity) in his/her family. Regardless of the teacher’s ethnicity, if his/her family is strictly white, black, brown, or asian, then you call him/her a damn racist for not having any diversity in her own family.
My family is very diverse also. I have 6 sister-in-laws, only 2 of them are white and the others are black, hispanic and Japanese. I have 35 nephews and nieces. All but six of them are of mixed race. My wife is from Mexico and I have 2 daughters of mixed race. I keep a family picture in my wallet from the last family reunion which I pull out and throw in the face of every liberal asshat that dares to call me a racist because of my political views. Then I ask them how many minorities are in their family. When they stammer, himmer and haw and search for a way to respond, I tell them to STFU and ESAD. Then I walk away and leave them pondering the fact that they just got pwned.
Works every damn time.
(Yep, gots me my own personal race card.)
Since Obama is 1/2 white, she only dislikes his white 1/2..his mother was 100 white, father 1/4 african and 1/4 arab..(not too sure about his dad but I did read that someplace)
If you can arrange a miniature family reunion and have them meet the teacher, while she restate her case to the teacher, it would probably shut the teacher’s mouth. I’d even, if you’re willing to pay the cell phone bill, call them up and put them on speaker so the teacher can hear them herself. Make sure you do it where you have an independent witness.
At the very least, if you can get letters from your minority family members, basically stating everything she’s stating, along with contact numbers, that should help.
"In addition, don't feel like you have to list all the specific examples of diversity in your family. We don't have to have diverse family members to qualify as non-racist.
"And tell your daughter there is no way to prove that she is not racist, and if the teacher insists she do so, the lawyer will be able to help with that.
"Good luck."
Sound advice from Semper911, hope. I'd take it and bring that lawyer along with you. This could end up very twisted.
On Monday, daughter uses questions.
1. So America was not proud when the world saw them elect a president? I believe they were so proud they brushed off much of Q&A.
2. So the president was vetted? What, teacher, was unearthed against him in the vetting? <birth certificate issues, nefarious connections to known Leftists, including Cass Susteen who is now perched in the White House, and Van Jones who was transferred out as of an advisory position when it was finally revealed that he had stated he was a communist?
3. So, teacher, were there never any old pals, girl student friends, guy student friends (besides his spoken admiration for his friend and pastor, Reverend Wright, his mentor), or no jobs, no college transcripts, no grade school pals, NO ONE, to say what a great capitalist and American he was.
4. Was Hillary wrong, teacher, when she pointed out his connections to Tony Rezko who did go to prison?
5. So, teacher, was Michelle like his first date EVER? (blink, blink)
**** Daughter needs to check out Glen Beck’s website and the BLAZE.
The teacher is woefully incorrect in her/his assumption that your daughter must now prove that she’s not racist!
The teacher has commited HATE SPEECH (a favorite term of the left until it’s turned against them).
Please take a stand with the principal, school board and if possible your local media. This “teacher” is a out of control and in dire need of reigning in by a fearless parent! Your daughter need not suffer the indignities threatened by this “teacher”
That “teacher” has publically austercized your child and that cannot be allowed to stand! This person should lose their job!
Care to share the school district info. with us in this forum so we can flood support?
If it were me I’d be walking into the principle’s office Monday morning and if he didn’t do something I’d go to the school board and ask that she be reprimand for her insult.
Before he was elected even the Rev. Sharpton said he was not black and wasn’t down for the strugle and didn’t have and slave blood in him....was the Rev. Sharpton a racist, and Jesse Jackson was heard on open mike saying he’d like to casterate that guy...Is Jesse Jackson racist....(depends on the grade your daughter is in if this was appropropriate, but I’d tell my kids to mention that to the teacher and by 3-4th grade they would have...written down for her if necessary....
The teacher needs to prove his contention, not your daughter. I’m no lawyer but I might think he slandered her.
And, to this day, three years into his term, have STILL not been fully articulated (but we at FR know what he's all about).
I would go over the teacher's head and give the principal what for. Of course, the principal is probably a raging lib, as well, so I'm not sure where that will go.
This is despicable. This teacher has no busy accusing students of being racist and forcing them to do assignments to prove they aren’t. This is total incompetence and harassment. Go to the school board immediately. Then the press. Then the lawyer. This teacher needs to be fired.
Turn the tables on her. Tell the teacher she only made the allegation of racism because your daughter is Irish, Italian, or whatever the case may be. Better yet, any Jewish blood in your family? Call her an anti-semite and make her prove she is not.
“I am married to a man who is 1/16 Sioux Indian. I have 3 hispanic neices and a nephew. I have four African American neices and nephews. “
Bring your family with you..
I would not deal directly with the teacher. I would go to the teacher’s supervisor and inform him/her that its a pre-litigation courtesy call. That usually gets their attention. Then the supervisor needs to deal with the teacher. An aplology in front of the class would be my minimal requirement. Teachers are supposed to mediate classroom debates not attack students.
Agreed and well said
How is it “racist” to point out that a lot of whites voted for Obama in the hope of healing racial division?
