SOLID, solid donations from me if that turns out to be the case. For me, its that “Dick Cheney” balance I am looking for and Col. West delivers.

I would LOVE to see that happen! We need no-nonsense people in charge, not pandering silly putty jellyfish.

My personal choice would be John Kasich. He knows budget issues better than anyone except maybe Newt. They worked together for years in Congress. He would help ease worries establishment types so they might support Newt, or at least not try to sabotage him. Plus he now has exectutive experience and would help with Ohio. Obama must win Ohio to be reelected.

Not sold on Newt, but I do like the thought of Allen, Might be enough to make sure Newt stays small government instead of following in his heroes of large government. That could sell me some but I will not be jumping up and down.

I think West would make an excellent VP. Plus, West would be a viable Candidate for Prez in 2020 after Newt’s 8 years -— instead of starting completely over like we did when the Bush/Cheney team left office.

ok I have a question related to Newt’s VP pick. Given that he is in his mid/late 60s does anyone think that he might be lining up whoever he picks for the run after only 4 years in office? I wouldn’t put it past him to think along these lines and believe for that reason alone that he may actually pick Palin, BUT I only give that 60-70% odds right now.
Your thoughts?

HMMM, could really be a team that would be very hard to beat. And make it very hard for the race-baters to continue playing their dirty game against the GOP with the distinguished Col. West in the VP position.
There are a lot of good prospects out there, including those who have been in this contest. It would be good to see many of them selected to work with Gingerich in various capacities and in his Cabinet: Santorum, of course, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, even Perry and Bachman. I think we had some very intelligent, capable and confident contenders and it was good to hear from all of them as the field narrowed.
Even with their differences, to me, at least, there was one resounding and uniform message that united them with Americans...that of the need to restore America to upholding the principles and morality that made us strong and a nation that has been favored in God's eyes. That has given me a lot of hope for our future.
