Two veteran SC consultants volunteer to help Gingrich campaign
Bob McAlister served as chief of staff for former Governor Carroll Campbell. He is a Columbia, SC-based public relations consultant who specializes in commuications and campaign strategies. He played a leading role in the 2000 and 2004 Bush presidential campaigns. He also served as a consultant to John McCain in 2008 and Jon Huntsman in 2012.
Richard Quinn served as media consultant for Ronald Reagans 1980 campaign in South Carolina. Over the past thirty years, Quinn has served as campaign and media consultant for some of the States best known Republican leaders, including Strom Thurmond, Floyd Spence, Joe Wilson, Lindsey Graham, Henry M
In announcing their decision to support Newt Gingrich in the final hours of the SC Primary, the two veteran consultants issued the following statements:
BOB McALISTER: Governor Carroll Campbell, whom I was honored to serve, was state chairman for Ronald Reagan, back in 1980. Over the years, he worked closely with President Reagan in building the foundation of the modern American conservative movement. I know if he were with us today, Governor Campbell would want South Carolina to choose a true Reagan conservative to be our Partys nominee. Thats why I have decided to back Newt Gingrich. I believe he can inspire our nation to build a new conservative majority.
RICHARD QUINN: When we held our first Presidential Primary back in 1980, I was honored to serve as media consultant for Governor Ronald Reagan, a truly historic national hero who inspired me as well as millions of Americans.
As Republicans, our task is to build a conservative majority for a new generation. To do that we need a standard bearer connected to the Reagan legacy. Clearly Governor Romney is not. When he ran for office in Massachusetts, he actually denounced President Reagan and said he had been an independent during the Reagan years.
The other two candidates, Newt Gingerich and Rick Santorum, are both Reagan conservatives, good men and solid leaders, but it is now clear which of the two has the best chance to win this primary. So the time has come for conservatives across South Carolina to unite behind Newt Gingrich.

Nothing like waiting to the last minute.
take my word for it these guys are the real deal
Yep, it’s like Patton getting 400 more tanks. Team Romney must be wetting themselves at this point.
If Romney, and even McLame had any round attachments made of anything but cotton balls, they could figure out the country is fed up and doesn't want business as usual.
Business as usual, going along to get along, making nice with thugs across the aisle, has gotten us where we are. NO MORE!---no more hunkering down because the lamestream might not like us; no more vetting every utterance because of fear of being called racist; no more compromise over things that cannot be compromised without losing ourselves and our country.
The things which made Reagan so successful was original thought, confidence in his decisions, adherence to conservative values, and turning off his critics with good humor. Of course, his years before the camera didn't hurt. He knew how to look good, no matter what.
vaudine
Better be wary of anyone coming over from John Huntsman. I think he was in it for Romney. I remember what happened to Sarah after Mitt’s people joined McCain.
I have lived in SC for over 32 years and campaigned for many Republicans for local, state and federal offices (including Carroll Campbell) and those guys are the real deal.. they win
I pray you are right.
