John McCain was not born on a U.S. military base. He was born in a civilian hospital in the city of Colon, Republic of Panama.
The U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Affairs manual stipulates:
7 FAM 1131.6-2 Eligibility for Presidency
(TL:CON-68; 04-01-1998)
a. It has never been determined definitively by a court whether a person who acquired U.S. citizenship by birth abroad to U.S. citizens is a natural-born citizen within the meaning of Article II of the Constitution and, therefore, eligible for the Presidency.
(...)
d.(...) In any event, the fact that someone is a natural born citizen pursuant to a statute does not necessarily imply that he or she is such a citizen for Constitutional purposes.
His mom and a contemporaneous newspaper in Panama and a Washington Post reporter who saw a birth certificate all say this is wrong. The likely thing is that a doctor from the Colon Hospital, which I believe was staffed by U.S. military doctors, attended the birth at Coco Solo. Over time, the records may have been transferred, but the best evidence supports that he was born on base.
This story is not true. He was born on a Military base in Panama, not in a civilian hospital. That John McCain birth certificate which is floating around the net is fake. McCain did not release his birth certificate, but he did show it to the reporter that made this report.
Not that it matters now, but as Freepers it is our duty to report the truth.
