Man, you are dense. I have NO problem with legal freely entered transactions. That is not what this is about. I have no problem with people getting laid off, either. It happens; so what?

You simply refuse to understand that this will poison the electorate against the man.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be comparing Bain to house flipping realtors in this instance.

Were there poor decisions made and improper personnel in place? Definitely.

However, that's a bit different from an overt strategy to take over, cannibalize, and sell off.

Seems like you wouldn't bother with the 8 years of investment and mergers if that was your goal. You'd also take the offer that was proposed by another enitity before everything went south, if making a quick buck is the endgame.
