Only the Delusional Believe Mitt Romney Would Ever Actually Repeal Obamacare
Reaganite Republican ^ | January 3, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

All you're going to get is some b.s. tweaks- if that
With a President Romney, ObamaCare is here-to-stay...

Embedded below is a short clip from an interview just last year where Mitt Romney defends all basic commonalities between his Massachussets ObamaCare-prototype and the real deal, as inflicted upon an unwilling nation by the power-drunk 'progressive' Left in early 2010... and they are numerous.
Yet if not identical twins -as Mittens purports- they're surely a couple of grotesquely-bloated fraternal bastards we all would have been a whole lot better-off without.

Regardless of what what Romney's PAC-attack buddies might try to tell you, Newt Gingrich DID NOT support RomneyCare in any sort of unqualified manner- rather, he observed numerous potential pitfalls. Gingrich did see merit in it's goals, (wider coverage and lower costs) just like how Dems and Republicans both say they want the country to be 'wealthy, healthy, and at peace'... while often diametrically opposed on how to get there.

As Newt said in an interview last week, the big difference between he and Mitt Romney comes after the implementation of RomneyCare, as Mittens' way clearly didn't work.  Newt therefore sees it as a mistake, primarily due to the difficulty demonstrated in controlling costs... an ill-advised experiment all should take lesson from. These failures are directly related to concerns Gingrich voiced right from the start.

Conversely, Mr Romney seems to harbor an enduring belief in the glory of Big Gov health care, defending all his previous actions... and hair-splitting nuances regarding 'states' rights' do little to inspire confidence from conservatives who know ObamaCare must be destroyed.

Just listen to this smiley plastic mannequin for two minutes and you tell me if it sounds like a guy that's going to spend any precious political capital on repealing O-Care or any of the other radical and damaging legislation of the Obammunist era. All I can see is some suit trying to sell me Big Goverment health care...

Pay no mind to what he may have said on the campaign trail, Fox News, or anywhere else regarding his intention to rid us of the nationalized health care regime, as right here he tells you himself of hopes to 'keep the good' of ObamaCare... that's not repeal!  Sadly, men lacking core principles will say or do anything (but take righteous policy stand, as will be required in the vital repeal effort).

What gets me starts at 0:50 when helmet-hair goes into the ways his state-level government HC program differed from ObamaCare, disingenuously taking the fiscal high-ground in his 'responsible' tone with 'no tax hike' and 'we didn't cut Medicare' in Massachusetts--- when in fact the federal government has already spent BILLION$ out of ALL our pockets to keep fiscal-black-hole RomneyCare afloat (inc. $1.4 Billion in additional Medicare costs just for the state of Massachussets alone)... can you believe this guy?

Somebody needs to ask him who's going to be there to bail-out ObamaCare after he allows it to fester another few years...

And on the day of the Iowa caucuses, I would be remiss to not mention that a vote for Santorum is a vote for Romney... it's hard to deny the electoral calculus from which this conclusion is extrapolated. And unfortunately, that means another vote for ObamaCare's permanency.

btw- nobody's been sounding the alarm bell on ole Flipper like 21st Century Minuteman Jim Robinson of FreeRepublic fame... he had stealth statist/oily reptile Romney pegged years ago.

Correct, regardless of his personal feelings, he would have no choice.

But frankly I’d rather have a conservative leading with conviction, instead of a go along, get along who has to be dragged into doing the right thing and who can be rolled by the other side in order to “get something done”.

If this guy gets the nomination, we are going to be disappointed beyond belief. I do not see Romney, Boehner, McConnell giving up the power to abuse that comes from that law. Romney (and Gingrich) would only try to make the law “better.”

Unless the Supreme Court comes through this summer, I don’t think anyone will truly “repeal” Obamacare. They may change it or replace it with another plan, but the campaign add against whoever repeals it is easy to imagine.

Pan to a cute little girl sitting in a wheelchair with her mother crouching by her side, holding her hand. Mother says, “We could not get lifesaving care for Tina if it hadn’t been for Obamacare. Every month we scrimped to get her the minimum amount of care she needed to survive. Today she has great treatment because of Obamacare, and Tina is even starting school in the fall. Please vote against those who would take life giving treatments to Tina....” Close-up on a teary Tina whose lip is quivering..... Paid for by Socialists for America.....

I think that an adverse ruling by the Supreme Court is the only way we can get rid of this albatross, but even Judge Roberts has me nervous lately.....

Of course Romney won’t repeal it. He INVENTED it. A more accurate name for “ObamaCare” would be “National RomneyCare”.

The fact that Romney lacks core convictions cuts, perhaps, both ways.

Perhaps he is so unprincipled that he will turns his back on Romneycare (obamacare). Whores after all will do whatever you pay them to do.

That is what we have to hope for, and that is sort of what I believe. The numbers are too strong against obamacare to allow him to thwart the coming congressional repeal.

Only those ignorant of our Government believe a President can repeal signed legislation... He can do nothing about it without a passed bill from the House and Senate.

Precisely. Romney is the GOP version of Clinton - about Romney first, everything else second. Clinton quickly abandoned the positions of his “base” the second the Gingrich revolution swept into power. He signed all kinds of bills (including welfare reform) that was anathema to the Left.

Romney will do the same - he’ll do what’s needed to stay in power. And if we keep a GOP controlled House and get a GOP controlled Senate, he’ll willingly sign legislation sent his way.

He’s a yes-man. So if he’s the candidate, let’s use him!

That’s sort of precisely where we are....and even more so if Romney wins tonight....which would have been unthinkable two months ago.

Trust Romney. Like when he helped Obama in 2008?

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
