Newt Gingrichs new TV ad, Main Street, which began running in Iowa today:
(Excerpt) Read more at nationalreview.com ...
Staying positive... Will it work?
And then Florida for the Willard kill!
It’s ok, but an edgier ad attacking Obama would be better. Clips of some of his rolls in the debates would be better.
Newt steals Perrys plan, Paul trashes Newt and Mitt, and Santorum toots his own horn...
The choice is pretty clear.
Staying positive... Will it work?

I don't know, but I like it!
New “spots”? I know, but “ad” is a better word. Katrina— just trying to help. This is National Review who supports Romney.
Newt steals Perry’s plan?
Splain.
Lower corporate taxes and pushing American energy production.
I like Perry and Newt and I doubt they have to “steal” any ideas from each other on taxes or on energy.
Newt was a Reagan supply sider from the late 70s and early 80s. He was very early to the “drill here drill now” movement. I don’t think either has “stolen” from either for this campaign.
Splain.
He's going to do three things
1) Campaign for Al Gore;
2) Force all the 12 year old girls in Iowa to get Gardisil shots;
3) Ummmm......Ooooops. I forget the third one.
Sorry.
Hank

These have been central to Perrys platform for a long time now.
>> These have been central to Perrys platform for a long time now. >>
Well, I won’t argue that because I like Perry and Newt. But if we were in a pissing contest, I would mention that when Newt was leading the conservative take over of Congress, Perry was still a Gore supporting Democrat.
But because I don’t want to get in that pissing contest, I won’t mention it.
Short version: they both came to their beliefs separately and did not need to “steal” from each other.
>>> Boxed himself in with promises to keep it positive? >>>
I always interpreted his promise to keep positive as meaning with respects to other Republicans only - which is how he has handled himself in the debates: very positive towards all other Republicans but very hostile to the media and to Obama. That worked and is what he should keep doing.
But he may have felt like he boxed himself in even though I think everyone knew what he meant.
This is absurd. When Perry was fighting to hold down spending in Austin, Newtie was sitting on a sofa with Pelosi pushing the AGW fraud.
Reagan started as a D. If you want to attack Perry, I can give some legitimate reasons, but the one you mention isn’t one. Perry, on the whole, is the best of the litter of candidates. Too bad he isn’t getting traction.

Your reading comprehension is below first grade. I was having some fun with someone, but to anyone who can read a lick and has any sense of humor, I was being tongue in cheek. Sheesh, get a grip dude.
I made it clear several times, and I’ll write slower for your sake now: I like both Newt and Perry and I do not think either had to “steal” any idea from the other. What is so hard about that.
I was not attacking Perry - far from it. Chill.
Newt’s ad was good, but he REALLY needs to address the mud slung at him.
Paul’s ad started strong as well, but the “the one you’ve been looking for” at the end sounds eerily like the phrase “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for” that this guy said:

The comment was about Perry and Gore. While I realize you said you like both Newt and Perry, my point is that no one gains by repeating stupid slams against Perry.
Within the confines of the discussion I was having with the other poster, it was totally contextually appropriate and certainly not a “slam” the way I used it.
That you took offense was totally your choice and not really indicated by the nature of the discussion he and I were having.
