You can tell they’re genuine, not staged photos by looking at the chainsaws. The bars have both been used and the paint worn off.
If it were a politically staged picture of the sort that we’re becoming all too familiar with, the chain saw bars would have been perfectly spanking clean, and the saws likely never started.

I must say that, as much as I admire President Reagan, George Bush did have better taste in chainsaws.
