Anything by the Trans Siberian Orchestra (Especially What Child is This from their Lost Christmas Eve album), Mannheim Steamroller, and the classics from guys like Crosby and Sinatra. I’ve also started watching the old Bob Hope Christmas specials from Vietnam. Nowadays it seems that the USO has to beg people just to go to Kuwait, much less the “front lines.”
TSO is the most amazing Christmas band to come around since Bing Crosby. I’ve seen them in concert the last 3 years in a row, and I’ll be going again next Saturday. I’ve brought my mother, fiancee, and her mother into the mix, and this year my brother will be joining us.
I thank God for true Christmas music. The over-produced commercial garbage they’re churning out nowadays does no justice to the high holy day of the birth of our Lord. Jesus Christ himself frowns on his birthday at the commercialized garbage that’s become a celebration of materialism over true introspection and genuflection of the greatest day God ever gave us.
