Ginger White, the 44 year old co- owner, is energized each day as she spearheads each session. One member commented: “Ginger never gets tired.” In a recent interview, she explained seven years ago she was diagnosed as having a mitral valve prolapse. Her diseased valve had an eighty percent leakage. Subsequently, she underwent opened heart surgery for a valve replacement. The surgery was successful because shortly afterwards, she resumed her cardio workouts as she had done all of her life. She believes healthy eating and regular exercise is the key to longevity and a healthy life. She says “it’s a two way street.” She admitted having tried various exercises such as, kickboxing, aerobics, to cycling. For nearly two years, she has been cycling and finds it to be “just the right fit.”
White filed for bankruptcy 23 years ago and has been evicted from several residences. She filed a sexual harassment suit in 2001, the station said, which was settled.
She described herself as an unemployed single mom trying to make ends meet.
I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person, she told the station. It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.
