I am looking for software that lets me see on one page a running valuation of my stock investments. I have tried the Xcel financial.yahoo.com and cannot get it to load, let alone work.
Pointers to an easy to set up and use package would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Ever since MS Money went by the wayside about a year and a half ago, I have used Yodlee. I’m reasonably satisfied with it.
Excel has the capability of “pulling in” quotes from another source, such as Thompson One quote system.
What you need to do is find an Excel compatable source provider and then put in the Excel code that instructs it to go get the info.
For example. In an Excel Spreadsheet, you might put the ticker symbol of the Silver ETF, SLV in Excel cell A1.
And in the next cell (B1), you’d place the following code (assuming you use Thompson One as your quote service),
=RTD(”Tf.RtdSvr”,,”Q”,A1,”LAST”).
This code instructs Excel to go to the Thompson One service server and extract the “Last” quote of the symbol listed in Excel cell A1, in this case SLV.
Hope this is helpful.
Scottrade had free program called Gains Keeper that was absolutely super but they got rid of it a couple of years back and now you must buy it. I don’t know the exact cost or if the premium version is as good as the old freebie. Scottrade now uses a gains/loss program that is good for taxes but otherwise so-so.
If you open an account with such companies as TD Ameritrade, Scott, etc., thaey all come with such software.
AOl has a program, do you have an AOL screenname? Theirs is called http://www.dailyfinance.com/ and you can have multiple portfolios.
Quicken.
OK. WHERE at smartmoney.com?
You've got to register with them, then look for "Tools" and "Portfolio." Registering is fairly simple--give them an email address, create a username and password. There's no cost to you.
You can actually create multiple portfolios, using stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, etc. You can also include cash holdings. If you click around, you can get various displays, see graphical depictions of your gains and losses...it's very intuitive and easy to use.
Good luck!
