The Cold Fusion Ping List
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/coldfusion/index?tab=articles
-------------------------------------------------------------- http://ecatnews.com/?p=1144
Unfortunately, if Rossi did the following:
1) hired a bunch of actors to pretend to be the customer reps,
2) created an elaborate year-long special-effects-derived series of demos,
3) bribed, hypnotised or otherwise fooled Focardi, Levi, Kullander, Essen, Bianchini, Stremmenos
4) arranged for Piantelli, Miley and a host of others to try to fool the world into thinking that cold fusion was real,
5) got NASA, SPAWAR, The Defense Threat Reduction Agency and The Defense Intelligence Agency to say nice things about the field,
6) got Bushnell to make a fool of himself,
7) and convinced his former partners to set up another company called Ampenergo to pretend that they had a contract for The Americas for a substantial sum ----- or that they just did this with no proof because they have worked with Rossi and trust him because hes such a fine fellow,
8) sold his profitable company to his ex-partners in order to spend that wealth on a multi-million dollar scam; ----- certain that once he got all the above ducks in a row he would pretend to sell the first device ----- and then reel in the true target of his dastardly plan
9) and convinced a bunch of Greek crooks to set up a dummy company called Defkalion ----- to pretend to fight with him over the non-existent eCat, ----- to perpetuate the illusion and spin it off into a competing mirror-scam
[the second (this time genuine) buyer of a 1MW plant that will net him $2 million dollars ----- until they want their money back or sucker a $100 million dollar deal under the table ----- because he has experience in pulling the wool over all these idiotic eyes ----- and knows that they will just take his word for it ----- and not want to test if his 1MW plant can heat a small village without truckloads of coal or oil or a big fat electric cable coming into the container from beneath the floor (no you cant lift the carpet!) ]
10) and that, in order to pull this off, Rossi had to risk discovery by interviewing all the people he subsequently fooled so that he could only invite the gullible Professors and not the brilliant anonymous posters on the Internet who surely would have found him out
then, yes, all bets are off and Im with the guys who think that Rossi is an idiot and they are all geniuses.

Reasons to doubt Rossi
Technical
- Still no independent confirmation that the E-Cat does anything at all from any known company, university or other credible organization.
- Still no demonstration that clearly demonstrates that the E-Cat is actually generating excess heat. Rossi has received suggestions from fans and critics alike in ways to show that his E-Cat actually works. He has refused to use any of the suggestions (except for the one test mentioned in the next item).
- In the one test that supposedly was set up specifically for the purpose of "answering the critics" (the 18-hour test in February 2011), Rossi did not allow any outside observers to attend that test, and he failed to release a report with any data from that test.
- Rossi claims to be able to "enhance" specific isotopes of Nickel in order to prepare the "fuel" for his E-Cat. He is claiming that a six-month supply of this fuel (100 grams) would cost between $10 and $20. The ability to "enhance' (enrich) specific isotopes, without major industrial processes, in kilogram quantities and for pennies a gram, would be worth far more than the E-Cat. The medical applications alone would be worth billions. Why isn't Rossi doing anything with this technology?
- Rossi had samples of the "fuel" and "ash" (before and after versions of the Nickel mixture he claims to have used in his E-Cat) analyzed by a Swedish lab. Rossi has not released the actual report, but the investigators have publicly stated that the before sample was almost pure Nickel, and that the after sample contained 10% Copper and 11% Iron. They have also reported that the isotope ratios of both the Nickel and Copper do not show any deviations from their natural occurrence. They are careful to avoid making any conclusions beyond what the data shows, but they do state, "However, its remarkable that nickel-58 and hydrogen can form copper-63 (70%) and copper-65 (30%)" and "Its then somewhat strange that the isotopic composition doesnt differ from the natural."
- Based on Rossi's claim that he alters the isotopic composition of the Nickel prior to using it as a "fuel", and the analysis that shows only natural composition are in direct contradiction. Also, the claim that the Copper and Iron in the "after" sample doesn't stand up to scrutiny. If any specific isotope of Nickel had been transmuted into Copper or Iron, the isotopic composition would not match the natural ratios found in the test.
- No one has put forward a theory to explain how one converts up to 30% of the Nickel (as stated by Rossi) into Copper and/or Iron without changing the natural isotopic ratios of any of the elements involved.
- Based on the several items above, Rossi's claims about transmutation are not consistent with the available evidence. The evidence, however, is consistent with simply mixing together ordinary Nickel, Copper and Iron powders in the correct ratio, using nothing more sophisticated than a kitchen scale.
Business
- Rossi claims that a "secret company" bought his 1MW E-Cat, and that their representative was an engineer and former Colonel in NATO named Domenico Fioravanti. Interestingly, in spite of the phenomenal interest in this story, no one has been able to show any evidence of this person existing prior to the day of Rossi's big demonstration (October 28, 2011). It's hard to believe that a Colonel in NATO who is also an engineer with "30 years experience in thermodynamics" would leave absolutely no trace anywhere on the Internet. (I would welcome any evidence of Domenico Fioravanti's existence!)
- Rossi has a considerable criminal record for fraud. [LINK]
- Rossi seems to be going out of his way to team up with questionable business partners. Sterling D. Allan seems to have fallen for every energy scam for the last decade. He is also the primary source for much of the news about Rossi and the E-Cat (including much that is questionable or flat out wrong).

I see you haven’t removed numbers 7 and 8 in your cut-and-paste, even after other posters have shown you the proof that these are not arm’s-length transactions.
Yet again, Kevmo refuses to let the truth get in the way of his cheer leading.

Mr. Eric H. Holder, Jr., Attorney General of the United States. I have an urgent message for you that will affect the future of our country and the rest of the world. First, let me thank you for the hard work you do fighting organized crime. Eric Holder supplies weapons for organized crime.
More evidence that Rossi has a screw loose.

Rossi responded to NASA on July 22 and told them that they could test his device if they paid him $15 million. I can't believe NASA didn't pay Rossi $15 million to test his rusty pot boiler.

Ahh folks here is the important part of the jaw flap:
“Andrea Rossi Working with Domenico Fioravanti on Electrical Power from E-Cat
25 novembre 2011
By E-Cat World
Andrea Rossi has recently reported making a significant breakthrough in producing electricity from the E-Cat, something that had been a challenge for him for a long time. Rossi mentioned this breakthrough in the Tom and Doug show interview earlier this...”
Hopefully the “breakthrough” was going to Internet and looking at all the steam turbine devices available with proved technology.
Helical gear generators are very efficient and can use waste heat from many sources.
The BREAKTHROUGH has already been made by someone else.

I see that Rossi is calling Defkalion a liar, and claiming that they don't have their own working "cold fusion" device (which they are supposedly announcing next week):
Look to what is going on around the Balcans: there are clowns saying they have a technology copied from us, actually they have just a moke up, waiting for the piece of info they need to make a real copy. They believed we would have been selling in October the small E-Cats, so announced they would have made a demo in october ( buying a model, disguising it as a copy made by them). But it was just a trap we made. [LINK]
So, I guess Rossi is an unreliable business partner, since he seems to take delight in setting "traps" for them.
Calling them "clowns" is also a nice touch.

"Thermoelectric eCat Within A Year" I think this is either a translation or reportage error. The small units are not planned to be "thermoelectric" (i.e. use semiconductor heat to electric conversion), but simply small genset systems using normal heat-to-mechanical-to-electrical.

According to
THIS, Rossi has refused to allow testing of his E-Cat because "E_CAT sold".
He has previously claimed to have built thousands of them; he has claimed that he has been heating his factory for two years with them; he claims that he's building and selling them right now (but only to secret customers).
But he doesn't have even one available for testing, under very favorable conditions.
The article also hints to an upcoming story about how Rossi tried to get $15 million from NASA for the privilege of testing his gadget.
