Like all amnesty shills, you raise the false dichotomy of amnesty versus boxcars, while ignoring the valid proposals raised by many of setting up self-deportation scenarios that would open up jobs for Americans while reducing the billions in tax dollars spent on bennies for illegals.
Yeah, it ain't perfect. But you epitomize the maxim of someone making the perfect the enemy of the good.
Actually, while I don't believe we will be able to actually deport them, I'm all for cutting out all bennies. If the Feds would do something like Alabama has, and actually enforce the current laws, it might mitigate a bunch of the problem. When the Feds fight it and only a few States stand up to them, it tends to move the problem rather than actually solve it.
I have feelings just as strong as most on FR, but I can't conceive a workable solution, so I accept we have the problem and understand that it won't change a whit until we find someone strong enough to actually seal the borders. I believe all the candidates understand this and all have esposed sealing the borders. Until that happens, the rest is moot unless we want to accept another "comprehensive" program. I think that whittling away at it one step at a time is the only workable solution. If we close the gates, instead of growing, the problem will start to mitigate itself even if we can't get rid of a bunch that are already here.
At any rate, I'm gonna call a self-imposed truce and let everyone else opine as they will and hope we can at least get rid of Obama - any of the Repub candidates wold be a big improvement and expand the chance that something might be done.
