Very shallow thinking.
Russia is the #1 oil producer in the world. More than Saudi Arabia. They pump over 10 million barrels per day, about 11% of the world’s daily supply.
There is no one to replace that. Everyone else is flat out maxed.
If Russia wants behavior changes from ANYONE, all they have to do is close their spigot 1/2. That will double the price of oil (yielding the same revenue for themselves) and global destruction to everyone else.
They have no need to confront NATO. They can just cut off NATO’s fuel supply.
So why then they sent their warships to Syria? Just for sightseeing trip?

So true. Russia is not going to go to war with NATO or anybody else. They are the champions of sabre rattling. Thats about it.
