Q. "You were asked about world government and you said 'there is no world government'. What is your role in groups like the bohemian club, freemasonry, and that sort of thing, Council on Foreign Relations?

Gingrich: "I don't belong to the Bohemian Club, I have no role in freemasonry. And my primary activity in Council on Foreign Relations was on figuring out how to fight terrorism"

Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney are council members...sheesh this is a stretch for the Newt bashers.

Exception here but the rest could all take the float test & this world would be a much better place to live.

No matter how minor the source...

The source is Gingrich himself. There is no more direct source than that.

“Conspiracy theorizing is intellectual laziness.”—Rush Limbagh

Where have I posted conspiracy theorizing? Your imagination must be getting of you.

I am starting to think that a good many so called FReepers are purposely doing their level best to help Romney win.

You sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Pretty much anyone involved in DC politics, international business, or media are members of the CFR in some sort.

Then the CFR is influential and it is news that a major presidential candidate admitted he is a member. Why do some on this thread act like it is wrong to post Gingrich's admission of CFR membership? "The guilty flee where none pursueth."

Media outlets that are part of the CFR rarely ever report on the CFR. Therefore, it is unlikely that any mainstream media will report on Gingrich's admission.

I think you are putting the cart before the horse. What is influential are the members. The CFR can’t make policy, they are simply a think-tank that helps members research issues, positions, etc. Let’s say you are a politician and you want to propose a trade-agreement with the Conch Republic. You can go to the CFR and hire them to do a study of ramifications of said agreement. They will work with other members to research all ramifications. However, what is done with that research is in your hands.

As to why it is a hot topic, simply because a lot of idiots out there think it is some sort of big conspiratorial thing and some evil, vile organization.

Plus, I don’t think there is anyone saying it is wrong to post Gingrich’s admission, the issue is how it is made a deal of. Just like damning someone for attending a Bildberger meeting or being a Freemason. None of those things are damning or dismissive in themselves. All it does is take attention away from issues and towards phantom stories.

I attended a buildaburger meeting. I made mine with cheese, pickles, mayo, ketchup and onions.

Your tactics will not work. A vote for Newt is a vote for Romney. Newt is not a solid conservative. He is an elitist, genuine phony.

Try not to speak.

We have a great BuildACheeseburger place next to us with a big buffet where you can conspire to add any sort of ingredient you want on your Cheeseburger. If you want to be really part of the conspiracy, you add Swiss cheese, German sauerkraut, and Korean kimchi on it. That proves you are an internationalist.
