First, Perry and Cain are 2 of the 3 candidates I like the most.

BUT: you and Normy are being ridiculous in your pro Perry anti Cain argument in this regard: you criticize Cain for a number of things, including not physically joining clinic blockades and not specifically enacting legistlation — therefore - you doubt his pro life credentials.

That would be like someone else doubting Perry’s credentials on the free market because he’s personally never hired a single person in the private sector.

It is simply foolish to expect everyones’ life experience to be the same. I don’t doubt Perry’s committment to the free market. You shouldn’t doubt Cain’s pro life stance.

No sir. I actually think Cain probably is pro-life. The problem is his complete botching of his answers for something that should be so simple.

I don't expect Cain to do anything to stop abortion unless he wanted to donate to a cause or something but here's the problem.

Cain voted for Clinton (according to Cain's communication VP). Now Clinton has never been pro-life. His wife voted for someone in the Dem primary and whoever that was wasn't pro-life.

If it is part of your core, you would vote that way at least. Then he botches 3 interviews and even after making a clear statement of his own beliefs as being 100% pro-life personally, he goes on Fox and Friends as agrees that abortion should not be part of the political discussion. It makes no sense.

The whole point of my post is that a voter has to believe Cain based on his words only. He has no record so how do you judge him? His words, well those have been all over the place. He can say "I am personally pro-life" after saying abortion is a social choice and agreeing it shouldn't be part of the political discussion, but then I would have to determine, because he has no record, which statement guides him or is he just being political.

Now if Cain made all 3 of those statements but had been a Senator or Governor who had a great pro-life record to point to great, but he doesn't.

If he voted for Clinton it's clear it wasn't very high on his priorities as an issue.

I didn’t “doubt” his credentials. I said that Perry had a record. I said that in response to a freeper who falsely claimed Perry was open borders.
