>>>>>It's about time someone on Free Republic has the gonads to tell it like it is. Well done, bullypulpit! You've offered some excellent pieces in recent weeks in support of Rick Perry and I appreciated them. Now you're taking on the insurgent candidacy of Herman Cain --- a true political neophyte if there ever was one. And that is my biggest concern with Cain. No governing or legislative record to judge him on and not much direct political experience to speak of. As far as I can tell, the Cain campaign is flying by the seat of its pants. Now that Cain sits atop the leader-board, he's finally getting the serious scrutiny that he deserves and has thus far not received.
I must admit having serious reservations about Gov Perry after his poor debate performances. But you're right about the anti-Perry opposition forces. They've been swift and relentless with their endless gratuitous attacks on the Texas Governor. Bunch of juvenile delinquents if you ask me.

Reagan Man! Thanks for the post. I love ya brother! I agree that Perry needs to do better in the debates. And I know he will. He has shown the amazing ability to vastly improve, overcome, and adapt throughout his career. He’ll make all of us Aggies proud, and Texas proud too. Just wait and watch, and never stop pulling for him, because in trying times like these, a good man needs a good posse.

I don't know if you've noticed, probably not, but having more professional politicians going to Washington, it's not exactly working out for us. It seems like the more we send to Washington, the worse off things are. But what do I know, we should look through photos of Tea Party rallies, I'm sure there are tons of signs that say "WE NEED MORE PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS IN WASHINGTON" and "THE SOLUTION IS TO ALWAYS SEND MORE CAREER POLITICIANS TO WASHINGTON".

Do you remember the pro-Perry supporters who were pushing the bullshit about how if you don't support Perry, you're supporting Romney? I do. You talk about a relentless bunch, and juvenile delinquents doesn't even begin to describe them. Those people got even more relentless when Perry started dropping in the polls.
The way things stand, anybody but Romney is good at this point - there are 3-4 non-Romney candidates that any of us should be able to get behind - Bachmann, Cain, Perry, even Gingrich, for starters.
